Texas Funding for Support Families

In Texas, Support Families are funded in two ways. 

  1. Medicaid 1915 (c) Waivers for children whose parents or guardians are offered and choose waiver services.  Waivers are regulated by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).
  2. Foster care funding and Title IV E foster funds for children in state conservatorship. These funds are managed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services  (DFPS).
